Batya currently is the editor of Femspec, and often writes about her travels. In 2011 she has been profiling some of the businesses in Isla Mujeres that offer their services in exchange for the write-ups she gives them while she edits femspec and continues her fieldwork. Caracol means conch shell, so the number of conch shells, in five caracols, and so on, is the rating as in five star hotel. As of March she is back in the States working festivals and conferences.
